44% of Twitter Users Have Never Tweeted.

If your one of the many millions of people who tend to tweet their everyday lives, from eating breakfast to announcing your bed time, then you’ll be interested in knowing that non-stop tweeters are more rarer then previously thought. According to a report from the Twopchart, a website that created around tracking Twitter users by their language and city, about 44 percent out of 974 million users on Twitter have never tweeted.

Twopcharts.

Twopcharts is unable to track when a users logs into their accounts and can only tell when an account has either tweeted or retweeted a message. Previously, the website had announced with a released report that said only 40 percent of the 20 million new accounts on Twitter each month tend to send at least one tweet during the first month that they signed up for, According to information from the Wall Street Journal.

During its company announcements, Twitter is known for not divulging much information on how many users have spent sending tweets, It usually keeps track on monthly active users. An account does not need to tweet to be considered active. A monthly active user is defined as someone who has managed to log onto their accounts at least once a month. This can be assumed that it means Twitter has a lot of lurkers, reading through feeds but never responding to any of them.

Cumbersome.

According to Twitter’s S-1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission ahead of its IPO during October of last year, the company has more than 215 million active users and an estimated amount of 100 million monthly active users. Those users have become responsible for the 500 million tweets a day.

Even without needing to send out a tweet, there are still benefits towards using Twitter. so these statistics do not necessarily mean that Twitters are losing subscribers. Although, the report does show that speaking one’s mind could become a troublesome thing with the limitation of 140 characters or less. According to the report, only 30 percent of Twitter accounts have sent a minimum of 1-10 tweets while only 13 percent have sent out at least 100 tweets.
