AirTame, HDMI Wirelessly
Connecting mobile devices, tablets, laptops to your TV can be a hassle. Airtame an upcoming startup is releasing a product that solves this problem by making HDMI accessible wirelessly. Airtame has been raising funds on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and has just reached over $700,000 in funding! Airtame still has 5 more days left to rack up some more funds before their campaign ends. Airtame works with Linux, Windows, and OSX and the device is as small as a Chromecast.
Using The Device
With AIRTAME you don’t need to worry about cables like HDMI, DVI, VGA or DisplayPort. Because with AIRTAME – nothing is plugged in your PC.
AIRTAME uses technology that’s already in your computer – your Wi-Fi.
- Plug your AIRTAME into the HDMI port of your TV, projector or monitor and power it up through the USB cable.
- Install our AIRTAME application on your computer and from the menu bar you are able to see all AIRTAMEs that are nearby you. Choose which one to stream to and type in a password – if needed.
- Let the streaming begin – sit back and enjoy

Other features include the ability to duplicate your screen, extending your desktop or displaying on multiple screens. This device will change how companies will conduct presentations. The backend technology happens all within your wifi. There is however some problems that might concern users. What happens if your wifi signal cuts off? What if your wifi device can’t handle all the streaming data? There are many more questions to be asked, but nevertheless the $700,000 funding is amazing and we will see how well they pass the test stage.
