Apportable Allows You To Develop Android Apps In Xcode

Apportable is a San Francisco based startup that allows you to develop android apps in xcode. The Apportable platform converts iOS games to Android automatically, without extensive changes to the original Objective-C or C++ code. This saves developers and startups a lot of time because instead of having two separate code for your application, you can do it all under one belt with the apportable. There are a few more solutions for cross platform development out there, but Apportable is one of the most stable and it is an ease to use. Apportable is currently the only stable solution to running native Objective C in an Android environment. Apportable is currently funded by Google ventures and have been apart of Ycombinator’s incubator startup program. As of now, Apportable has about 53 employed employees and is located in the SOMA district of San Francisco.

The SpriteBuilder 1.0 suite is billed as the first Objective-C cross-platform development suite. Objective-C is a programming language that Apple uses for its OS X and iOS operating systems. SpriteBuilder compiles code in Objective-C so that it runs on Android devices.

San Francisco-based Apportable says that developers who adopted SpriteBuilder will be able to rapidly build iOS and Android games with Objective-C and Xcode, an integrated development environment for Apple-related code. Apportable claims that SpriteBuilder is the only game development suite that enables a developer to run Objective-C code as a native application on Android. That means it runs faster and more efficiently than apps that are written with other cross-platform game tools. You can get the application for free in the Mac Store.

Apportable’s Spritebuilder comes with three pricing options. The three options is starter, indie, enterprise. All three options give you full access to the spirtebuilder, but the indie version will include advance frameworks and technical support. The indie version starts at $1000 per year.

If you currently have an ios app and would like to convert it to an Android app, Apportable offers conversion and top notch service support.

Paritosh Shah, head of mobile engineering at Pocket Gems, said, “SpriteBuilder has been an essential tool in building cross-platform user interfaces for our games. It is lightweight and makes very few assumptions about the design patterns, making it flexible and easy to extend to our needs.”
