Chocolabs Introduces Dramot The TV Drama Streaming App.

A Taiwan-based application developer and part of accelerator AppWorks family, know as Chocolabs, has recently announced the launching of its TV drama streaming application for its Indonesian audience, dubbed Dramot. If the application become successfully within the country, then Chocolab may decide to launch even more application for Indonesia.

The Works.

Dramot has been said to contain over 1,000 dramas from Taiwan ,China, Japan and South Korea. All of these videos are taken curated from other existing video platforms such as, Tudou, Dailymotion and YouTube, so the team can offer these videos to user without the necessary need to download, upload, or reproduced them.

Every single drama will also contain English subtitles, along with localization efforts that include load advertising partners and various promotions.

Dramot will earn its revenue through the use of advertisement. This strategy will be utilized at first during its period of trying to gain traction to prove that views enjoy consuming video content through the use of their mobile devices. During the meantime, the team will reach out towards various provider and channel to inform them on the status of the traffic and collaborate with them.

Dramot is a localized version of another Chololabs application that named TV Series/Shows. This application has managed to go under one million downloads from Taiwan alone, so far. Combined, Chocolabs has now over a total of 23 application with more than 3.4 million downloads.

Small Issues.

The application is currently lacking some necessary features such as push notifications when new videos are upload for a specific series. The app will also contain some bugs and latency issues that are being touched upon, one problem being previously watched videos loading up despite users trying to open up a new one. Either way, Indonesians love their dramas, as long as the application has enough shows to satisfy them, it will most likely receive some great traction.

Indonesia is the first country Chocolab had decided to begin their expansion on outside of Taiwan, If Darmont manages to succeed, the team will continue to develop more application for the market. If they find enough success within Indonesia, Chocolab will create its own development team in the country to build up more local products and client services.

Dramot is currently available for both iOS and Android devices.
