Microsoft Reveals Cheaper Office 365 Personal.
Making a big change from its traditional Office suite to Office 365 was a huge for Microsoft, but in a world where there are various free alternatives to Office, a new version of the software will be released with a cheaper price tag.
With only a payment of $6.99 per month Microsoft will provide Office 365 Personal, a partially limited version of the program that arrives with 20GB of OneDrive storage and 1 hour of Skype Calls for each month.
Home and Personal.
Although, unlike the Home edition of 365 that has been released for quite a while, Personal will only be allowed for one desktop and one mobile device. This means if one were in need to access their documents and use Office at the same time on numerous devices then Home, which allows for the use of 5 desktops and 5, is most likely to be a better choice.
We recognize that there are households of all shapes and sizes and we’re committed to delivering the right Office for everyone – whether that be one person or an entire household. – Chris Schneider, Microsoft
Before this announcement was made, Microsoft had the name”Office 365 Home Premium” in place, but now with Personal release soon, the name will be shortened down to “Home.”
Similarities and Differences.
The only big difference between Home and Personal are the limitation that have been placed for the amount of devices that can be used with individual license. Besides that, the software are similar and the other benefits remain the same.
We’re committed to delivering a great Office experience to all of our customers and believe that giving you a choice about the Office 365 subscription that fits your unique needs is one way we can do that. We’ll have more details to share closer to availability. – Chris Schneider
