Mobile Research Innovator Dscout Closes Investment Round.
Dscout, Inc., whose mobile research and insight platform is used by the world’s top technology and consumer product leaders including Google, Facebook and Intel, today announced that it closed a Series A financing round led by Chicago-based Synetro Group.
Insight teams from a wide range of industries rely on the ability to solicit and gather user experience feedback quickly in order to increase customer loyalty. Traditional methods for gathering customer reactions such as focus groups and surveys have significant blind spots; namely, that they can’t help brand teams see what consumers think and feel at key moments during an experience. Dscout’s platform, a combination of apps and tools for deployment and analysis, changes that by allowing nearly anyone with a smartphone to share videos, pictures and commentary as things happen — quickly and at scale.

The Series A caps an exceptional year for dscout that has seen a rapidly growing roster of clients, strong revenue growth and great momentum building a global pool of over 90,000 scouts.

Since its inception, dscout has proven its approach and model working with hundreds of organizations including leading innovators in technology, consumer packaged goods and services. Dscout was incubated by gravitytank, a leading innovation consultancy with offices in San Francisco and Chicago, who supported the team with strategic direction and financial support during its start-up phase. Gravitytank spun dscout off as an independent entity in late 2011.
