Qubole Leading The Way With Big Data Tutorial in Boston.
A leading provider for the next generation Cloud Big Data platform, named Qubole, has recently announced that the VP of Engineering, Shrikanth Shankar will be leading a tutorial at the Big Data Tech Con located in Boston.
Shankar’s session has been titled “Analyzing Big Data with Hive” , which has been scheduled on Monday, March 31, 2014, between 1:15 PM to 5:00 PM. This tutorial has been designed to introduced data workers to advantages of the Apache Hives. Participants will gain the knowledge of strategies and techniques that helps Hive surpass in performances on traditional data warehouses built on top of relational databases.
“After our CEO’s successful talk at Big Data Tech Con in 2013, I was very excited to be invited for a half-day tutorial,” said Shrikanth Shankar. “This will be an excellent opportunity for folks to learn my favorite tricks to optimize Apache Hive in a hands-on, face-to-face learning environment.”
The topics that will be touched upon may include Data Modeling in Hive, Hive Query Language constructs, syntax and features, the Hive Execution model utilizing MapReduce, and Advanced Optimization. Best Practices of core operation will also be touched upon and even demonstrated, as well an Q&A opportunity for all. The tutorial will be concluded with recommendations and insights of where Hive will be heading towards the future, which will also include developing tools such as Apache Tez.
