Sensus Purchases Smart Grid Analytics Provider Verdeeco.

A leading provider of clean technology solutions, named Sensus has enhanced their data analytics portfolio by acquiring Atlantic-based Verdeeco, a smart grid analytics company big data solutions for electric, water and gas utilities. Verdeeco will remain its own brand but will be operation under Sensus.

Utilities gathering data from smart sensors, which include the use of meters, and external sources such as weather reports, will now be better equipped to gather information for actionable intelligence that will save time and money. Specific applications that are in Verdeeco’s portfolio, which include transformer utilization, load aggregation, along with alert and alarm management.

Verdeeco variety of products, services and application will enable utilities to aggregate data from smart meters, SCADA systems, customers billing software, news services, and countless of other sources. Every sing one of these applications will be hosted within a secure cloud by Verdeeco’s Grid as a Service platform. Cloud-based management will require a lower upfront capital invest, which offers a reduced cost of ownership and allows the utility to take advantages over the software’s newly added functionality.
