Xiaomi an electronic tech firm based in China sold out it’s first batch of Redmi phones in less than 8 minutes! Shortly after, the tech firm sold out it’s first batch of 10,000 smartphones in Taiwan in less than 10 minutes. The sale was held online and users were camping since morning in order to get their hands on one of the Redmi. Xiaomi received a lot of complaints for the website being too laggy causing a lot of them to miss their purchase due to delays and bugs. For those that have missed the offer, but still wants to purchase it, you can wait for the new batch that will arrive to Singapore’s retail stores. Surprisingly, Xiaomi accepts Paypal as a form of payment. Most of the early bird purchasers actually used paypal to secure the purchase ahead of time.


The Redmi is available at S$169 without any contracts or post-paid plans, Redmi is a high powered budget Android mobile phone. The quality is suppose to be well built as well. A lot of consumers claim that they will be dumping their iphones to get a Redmi. Most of those people have never used an Android system before. In a way, Redmi is quite similar to the HTC one. You get a quad-core Cortex A7 processor, 1GB memory, a 4.7-inch IPS (in-plane switching) screen with 720 x 1,280 resolution, 8-megapixel camera and 4GB storage supplemented by a microSD card slot that lets you pop in your own memory cards. These might not be the best stats a phone can get, but for $169 with no contract, it’s a steal.

Many people are debating whether or not Xiaomi will take over the mobile market in the near future. Xiaomi is still considered an extremely young company and has a strong track record of selling out early bird offers. Feedback has always been solid as well. People are debating whether or not Xiaomi will be on top with Apple and Samsung in the mobile industry.
