YouTube Is Integrating Crowdfunding and a Channel Management App.
YouTube seems to rolling out some new content for creators as it has recently decided to announce a new featured program by the name of Creator preview, a new way for user to make money and manage their accounts while on the move, the video sharing site stated during Friday.
The Google-owned company has stated that it will launch a huge load of new features “in the coming months”, which will include a separate application for managing channels, a way for fans to pay creators directly, and crowdsourcing captioning.
The site’s director of creator product management, Matt Glozbach, elaborated that the new features were a result of a survey that was conduced by YouTube twice a year, in order to gather feedback from its online celebrities.
“Your biggest request? You want to hear about the new stuff we’re working on ahead of time, so you can tell us if we’re heading in the right direction,” he wrote in a blog post. “Well, your wish is our command.”
The post also included a video that outlined all the features that are currently in the pipeline at YouTube. Glotzbach stated that the site will be creating these video in a much more regular occurrence.
This new method of funding, which allows user to pay their favorite YouTube stars directly, will allow creators to depend less upon advertising revenue. The crowdsourced captions and subtitles promise to harness the power of more than over 60 languages.
YouTube has also highlight a few recently integrated feature which include the capability to share revenue with musicians, improved comment management tools, and expansion of its Creator Academy, which offers advice on creating and managing content.
